The “food and agricultural transition” is ongoing
Nine changes tell us to what kind of world it is leading us
Food and agriculture are far from being static: they are in constant evolution, undergoing deep changes that are sometimes more like real revolutions than like simple transitions.
The advent of digital technologies and biotechnologies, the development of ecological agriculture, bioeconomy and urban agriculture, the emergence of novel foods, the reorganization of research and investments and the financialization of the economy are among the major ongoing processes.
They will be examined here, and conclusions will be drawn as whereto the ongoing transition is leading us.
